Chicago
Alright, I’m sitting in a hotel room in Chicago. The Orrington Hotel. It’s a pretty dope, deco modern sort of joint, with dark red walls and cool round mirror in the room. I’m on MTV’s dime, not my own, so the rooms a bit bigger than usual. I’m on the road for 3 weeks with another project. (peep refresheverything.com it’s very cool, very worth seeing, very worth voting for, and very worth coming up with an idea of your own.)
So I’ve got the day off tomorrow (That’s why i’m drinking wine). And I hope to both by a book [Maximum City] and also take a bit of time to write some TGC. I’ll send an update then.

Clean Hands
One of my top priorities with The Gatecrashers is that this world is real. So I need to find real technology to extrapolate the ‘later’ technology from. (or maybe just pull it as is and integrate).
This one is in the NY Times this morning.

Hospital-Clean Hands, Without All the Scrubbing
By ANNE EISENBERG
Published: February 13, 2010
HOSPITAL workers often have to wash their hands dozens of times a day — and may need a minute or more to do the process right, by scrubbing with soap and water. But new devices could reduce the task to just four seconds, cleaning even hard-to-reach areas under fingernails.
read the rest in the NY Times.
Treatments and Ambient Jams.
Cleaning up the ‘bible’ and hitting some larger story treatments today. I’m taking it a bit slower in the headphones with a more ambient thing. www.paxahau.com Ambient / Electonic LIVE from Detroit. Streaming on iTunes here.
One of the most fun aspects of this world is the body mods, but I’m still tied up in the city politics. I’m reading equal parts medical journal and the business pages for research.

Organization
How to keep all the stories in line? I started the world wiki for myself, but that quickly became a public wiki. Now I need to find a tool for organizing all the story threads. Maybe I’ll make another wiki.
The First Post
Zach here, time to start writing. Ok, I should be writing scripts, but I’ll take a break every now and again to kick out some notes on the process of making The Gatecrashers. I’m a fan of historical record, so I’ll try to grab a little web-cam image each time I update. I know this one looks serious, but it’s Sunday afternoon and I’m trying to get a ton of work done.
Yep, music in those cans. It’s the only way I can focus and block out the world. Today it’s a french techno and deep electro station ABF Underground.
